The Email service has been restored and no data was lost. Customers can retrieve their email through the Webmail service or through email programs such as Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird as they normally do. There will be ongoing maintenance and tests with the new server to ensure consistency over the next few days. Customers can expect short controlled outages during that time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Two of our servers failed yesterday due to over heating in the communications room at the Town of Cobourg’s Water Tower. First our telephone service went down yesterday morning, which we were able to restore by replacing the power supply on the PABX server.

While in the process of restoring the phone system, the e-mail server failed as well. Restoring the e-mail server was not as easy as restoring the PABX server. We are in the process of rebuilding a new mail server and once that is complete we will transfer all the information from the back-up server to the new e-mail server.

No information will be lost during the transference of the information.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding.

Thanks,
Airnet Tech Team
